About The Work

Brazilian artist Rosângela Rennó is interested in the appropriation of images and found photographs. In this body of work, the artist is concerned with documenting historical photography collections. This print was colored in halftone, which creates color by overlapping colored dots, reinforcing a newspaper-like archival quality. The photograph held by the subject in the image is printed in a smaller dot pattern than the rest of the image, pulling it into focus.
