Tinta nos Nervos Lisbon
Tinta nos Nervos is a gallery dedicated to the arts of drawing, encompassing illustration in all its facets, multiple graphic arts, books, and drawing as an autonomous medium and practice. Its core mission is to present the many practices of draughtsmanship and illustration by artists, no matter what generation, origin, or education. Measuring up to 40 square meters total, the gallery has two spaces that enable us to concurrently present both a comprehensive exhibition, alongside short-term projects.
Our program is divided into two types of exhibitions: long-duration shows that present an elaborate, deep dive into any given author, collective, or theme; and week-long presentations with a more specific initiative or related to events such as a book launch, or a cinema festival. Tinta is a curatorial collective that is also open to external proposals from artists, curators, and institutions. Partnerships and collaborations remain at the genesis of Tinta’s foundation. Founded at Lisbon's Bairro of Madragoa, the gallery's mission is to contribute to the artistic and cultural circulation of content throughout the city and country, accessible across all possible borders, thanks to web-based services and the online shop.
