THEVIEW Studio is a contemporary art production studio founded and directed in Sant’Ilario, nearby Genoa (Italy) by Vittorio Dapelo and curated by Francesco Garutti. Barbara Beltrametti with the help of Michela Contu is curatorial coordinator.
Conceived as an hybrid format merging the curating of production processes with a studio-program dynamics, THEVIEW Studio is an unusual space where artists are invited to challenge their practice considering production itself as a topic and materials tests, procedures, local working sites and natural and urban environment as fruitful tools to realize new artworks and projects. Founded on the firm belief that proximity and underpinning to the artwork conception and mostly its physical realization could be today more timely than ever a necessary requirement for the construction of a critical gaze, THEVIEW Studio is an experimental organism featured by an agile and flexible nature interchanging the studio and production program with limited editions and publications, artworks and objects exhibitions, talks and discussions among authors coming from different worlds only apparently detached from each other. THEVIEW Studio is focused and seduced by the processes of making, it is moved by a strong spirit of mutual collaboration between the author and the producer, it inhabits the ambiguous space between the artwork and the artist, the market and the collection.
