SARDINE Brooklyn
Founded in 2011 by Lacey Fekishazy, SARDINE is a contemporary art gallery presenting solo exhibitions, small group shows and occasional limited editions by featured artists. SARDINE's modest size is a key asset in the construction of a contemplative, intimate space which has been used to showcase carefully curated collections of work as well as immersive, site-specific installations.
We celebrated our fifth anniversary on October 1, 2016 and produced 50 events and exhibitions as we reached our five year mark. At Sardine we focus on solo shows of artists who have rigorous and dedicated practices with a distinct personal vision. We have had the pleasure of presenting solo shows by Takeshi Arita, Jamison Brosseau, Maria Calandra (2013 & 2015), Holly Coulis, Andy Cross (2014 & 2016), Matthew F Fisher, Jaime Gecker, Jacob Goble, Michele Hemsoth, Gabriel Hurier (2012 & 2014), Peter O’Kennedy, Veronika Pausova, Janine Polak (2013 & 2015), Dana Powell, Desiree Leary, Matthew Mahler, Justin Q Martin, Sean Sheldon Moyer, Leah Tacha, JD Walsh, Tim Wilson, and Mitchell Wright.
SARDINE is located on the ground floor of 286 Stanhope Street between Wyckoff and Irving Avenues in Bushwick, Brooklyn, one block from the Dekalb L train and near the Knickerbocker M.
