Ivan Gallery
BucharestIvan Gallery is a contemporary art gallery opened in 2007 in Bucharest as a private initiative in the still young Romanian commercial gallery scene. The gallery’s programme focuses on local, Eastern European artists, be it established ones, such as Geta Brătescu, Paul Neagu or Lia Perjovschi, as well as young, emergent artist like the duo Anca Benera & Arnold Estefan, Cristina David, Ștefan Sava or Andreea Ciobîcă, while it has also collaborated with Romanian artists living and working abroad, such as Bartha Sandor or Mădălina Zaharia.
Ivan Gallery is the main gallery representing the Romanian artists Geta Brătescu and Paul Neagu and the first one to have shown their works - and that of Horia Bernea as well - in an international contemporary artistic context. The gallery has a fruitful collaboration with art institutions, such as MoMA, the Venice Biennale, Istanbul Biennale, Tate London, Hammer Museum, Palais de Tokyo, New Museum, where the represented artists have exhibited among other venues.
