Chevalier Édition Colombes, France
Established in Paris since 2008, Chevalier édition offers unique and limited edition rugs, embodying an exceptional alliance of craft and contemporary creation. The rugs are designed by contemporary artists, architects and industrial designers, the collaborations are initiated by the Artistic Director Stephan Lanez.
The rugs are unique works or made in a limited edition of up to 8 pieces, they are numbered in their weaving and integrate a unique system of identification.
Each work is hand-knotted in Nepal and uphold to the highest standards of quality and production. The workshop is affiliated with Rugmark, an organisation preventing child labour in the rug industry.
Chevalier édition participates in various international gallery and museum shows (Musée d’Art Moderne, Paris; Power Station of Art, Shanghai; MAKK, Cologne…) and the works can be found in important Private and Institutional Collections (Musée des Abattoirs, Toulouse; Mobilier national, Paris…).
Chevalier édition was launched by Camille Chevalier in the continuity of the family know-how. The parent company Chevalier Conservation, labeled Living Heritage Company by the French state, is specialized since 1917 in cleaning and restoration of rugs and textiles, providing a further guarantee of quality to these exceptional works.
