Chelouche Gallery for Contemporary Art
Tel AvivChelouche Gallery opened its first residence In 1985, on Chelouche Street in the old neighborhood of Neve Tzedek, Tel Aviv. Four years later the gallery moved to a spacious underground space on Hissin Street and established its position at the forefront of the Israeli art world.
In 2010, the Chelouche Gallery launched a new venue in one of the most beautiful buildings in the heart of Tel-Aviv called " The Twin Building," located in 7 Maze St. The historical building was designed and built in the 1920's in the neoclassical style by architect Yosef Berlin. In that building, new exhibition spaces were added to the gallery, and "The Chelouche Salon " was launched hosting intimate diverse cultural activities. Following the Corona epidemic, the gallery has moved to its biggest venue. Following two years of renovation, the gallery established its new home in September 2022, A remarkable Ottoman building from 1830, has been converted into a 700 square meters contemporary art space located a 15 Hazorifim St. in Old Jaffa. The renovation was adhered to meticulous conservation laws to preserve the building's special character and its historical and cultural heritage.
Since its establishment Chelouche Gallery has been promoting an international and local range of exhibitions, from contemporary art to experimental projects, in collaboration with curators and artists from around the world. The Chelouche Gallery retains its position as a pillar for the art lovers and community of artists. It emphasizes the artistic dialogue between Israeli artists and international artists, providing a platform for innovative concepts that redefine the boundaries of art and culture while integrating into the vibrant fabric of urban life in Tel Aviv-Jaffa.
