LATEST PURCHASE: The most recent piece I purchased from Artspace was by Asha Schechter . I bought it for a client’s office. She works with children and needed something fun with color and texture, but that wasn't distracting. This piece made me smile but didn't call too much attention to itself in a room meant for serious business. I love the shine, the texture, the color, and the whimsy.
WISH LIST: This is the hardest question for me. There is so much I would buy given an unlimited dream budget. The best thing about Artspace is the ability to get lost and find something new. Today I discovered an amazing piece on the site by Eline McGeorge , With Space Blankets and Dark Matter Inside a Norwegian Paradox (2013). I am not that familiar with her body of work but I love everything about this piece—the richness of the texture really speaks to me. I am particularly in love these days with artists like Evan Nesbit , Sasha Pierce , Brent Wadden , and Hugo McCloud —all of whom I think are really delving into texture and pushing the limits of surface touch in works. To me this McGeorge piece really falls into that category and would fit right into my latest obsession.

WHAT YOUR COLLECTION SAYS ABOUT YOU: Some people might think that it says I am confused! There isn't really a particular direction I go when I'm collecting for myself, but I try to never leave a piece behind when I'm still thinking about it the next day. I react emotionally first to a visual, then I delve into the story behind the piece. Once that grabs me, I'm sold. And I find a way for each of those pieces I love to find a home in my eclectic collection.
