Li Lei

Li Lei was born in 1965 in Shanghai. In 1976 he attended the “People’s Fine Arts Course” and at 10 years old he won a prize in the national fine arts contest for amateurs organized by CCTV and in 1980 he entered the applied art class of Huashan Fine Arts Vocational School. His first exhibition and publication was in 1982 when the decorative paintings were included in Shanghai Fine Arts Exhibition and published in Shanghai Literature. In 1983 he entered the Shanghai Fine Arts Design Company and after some years he participated in the Shanghai Youth Biennal and Shanghai International Art Festival at the Shanghai Art Museum.

At 25 years old he participated in the Fifth Tai Wan International Print Art Biennal in Taipei Fine Arts Museum. This moment started his success in the art field participating in a lot af exhibitions and shows and starting a new kind of oil painting. In the following years he organized and participated in a lot of exhibitions around the world: China, Korea, Netherlands, Germany, USA and more. In 2005 he became Executive Manager of the Shanghai Art Museum.
