Laleh Khorramian

Laleh Khorramian approaches her work through a series of experiments investigating outcomes through the use of collage, digital media, monotyping, painting, and drawing. Khorramian's 2014 film Water Panics in the Sea was presented in Times Square as part of the “Midnight Moment” program. This work was constructed through the process of magnification and manipulation of monotype prints and drawing. Through spectacle and theater, this film follows the voyage of a ghost ship as it traverses the ocean waters. Khorramian's work ranges in scale from works on paper to large public installations. Her varied practice is united through mixed media experiments in chance. 

Khorramian’s work has been exhibited extensively at institutions such as The Victoria and Albert Museum, MASS MoCA, North Adams, MA, Istanbul Museum of Art, Ballroom Marfa, Site Santa Fe Bienniale, The Saatchi Gallery, Moscow Biennial, Artists Space, New York, and MOMA P.S.1. She has participated in many international residency programs, including Baurenmarkt Residency, Vienna, AT, La Curtiduria Residency, Oaxaca City, MX, and the Watermill Residency Program, Watermill, NY.
