Wynne Greenwood

Wynne Greenwood is a Seattle-based artist who first garnered attention with Tracy + the Plastics, a trio in which she played Tracy live as well as two instrumentalists/back-up singers who appear on video. The band broke up in 2006, but Greenwood’s subsequent projects, video, sculpture, and photography have elaborated on its messy overlap of identities. Her work explores lesbian and feminist identity with a playful treatment of language that leaves wide gaps between tone and content.

Greenwood has had solo exhibitions at the  New Museum, New York, Cooley Gallery, Reed College, Portland, Henry Art Gallery, Seattle, and Soloway, Brooklyn, NY. Recent group exhibitions include Fourteen30 Contemporary, Portland, Jacob Lawrence Gallery, Seattle, South London Gallery, London, Frye Art Museum, Seattle. Greenwood is a 2015 recipient of the Neddy Artist Award at Cornish College of the Arts, Seattle.
