Sylvain Ciavaldini

Since his early works, Sylvain Ciavaldini has shown interest in a diverse array of mediums, adapting materials to that which he wants to express. Working with the cultural landscape of Marseilles, he collaborates with various locations, such as The Porte-Avion Gallery, Le Château de Servières, and The Astérides Association. Quickly, a relationship was established with the city through the network “Young Artists,” which permitted him to participate in various exhibitions and video programs in France and abroad, and, for five years, to collaborate with The B.A.N.K. Gallery, who would go on to show his work and in numerous national and international art fairs.

Sylvain Ciavaldini’s work is polymorphic, yet it relies on a pattern of drawing that possesses a structured approach and a definitive point. Between poetry and “scientism”, he tries to justify and explain in various ways the place of the artist and his imagination and creative ability: everything that constitutes the act of creation. Using various mediums to provide an original narrative, he favors the retinal appearance of his work while developing an ironic, absurd, and poetic reading of our world.
