Scott Ogden

Artist and owner of New York gallery SHRINE, Scott Ogden is an integral figure in contemporary folk and outsider art. Working in the field for over 20 years, Ogden has curated a number of exhibitions across the United States. His own work has been exhibited at New York's Outsider Art Fair, and Ogden's documentary MAKE (2008), which chronicles the lives of Outsider Artists Hawkins Bolden, Royal Robertson, Judith Scott, and Ike Morgan, was exhibited at Ricco/Maresca Gallery in 2009. In 2010 Ogden founded the skateboard company MAKE, which treats deck graphics as works of art, and features the works of self-taught contemporary artists, including Erik Parker, Kenny Scharf, and Jacob Kassay. 


Born in Oklahoma City and raised in Texas, Ogden received his BFA from the University of Texas in Austin, and his MFA from Queens College in New York. He was an Artist in Resident at Skowhegan in Maine. He lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
