Phong Bui

Phong Bui’s multidisciplinary artistic practice is inseparable from his work as an independent curator and Editor-in-Chief of The Brooklyn Rail. He creates paintings, sculptures, site-specific installations, and is best known for his mixed media practice. Bui highlights the rapid pace of his life through eclectic compositions and a focus on process and motion. His work incorporates art historical references, childlike drawings, and clippings from newspapers. Bui’s diverse practice presents a snapshot of his creative life and influences.

Phong Bui’s work has been included in exhibitions at the Brooklyn Museum and North Dakota Museum of Art. He has received awards and fellowships from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation and the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
