Melanie Delach

Melanie Delach is a painter and mixed media artist from Long Island, New York. Delach lives and works in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She received her BFA in Studio Art from Adelphi University in 2017 and an MFA at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 2019. Her mixed media paintings push the boundaries and borders of what it means to look inside the self through intimate interiors. She invites the viewer into her space but the materiality of the paintings pushes the viewer back out into real time, leaving them negotiating their access to these spaces. Her work has been exhibited in group shows at PAFA’s museum, many other Philadelphia galleries such as 1401 Germantown hosted by Inliquid, and Anna Zorina Gallery in New York. Delach has curated exhibitions in PAFA’s Tuttleman Gallery and Cherry Street Pier in Philadelphia. She has received the Fine Arts Venture Fund Grant and The Judith McGregor Caldwell Purchase Prize at PAFA. Her work was recently collected to be a part of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts permanent collection.
