Martine Feipel & Jean Bechameil

Installation artists Martine Feipel and Jean Bechameil have lived and collaborated together since 2008. Their work addresses notions of controlled space, incorporating elements of illusion and imagination. Feipel and Bechameil’s work is often centered on the concepts and physicality of idealistic architecture. Their 2014 exhibition “A Perfect World” investigates “modernist architecture, the utopist ideas that were prevalent during the period between the 50s and 70s and more precisely the social housing projects of this period.” They also exhibited in the Luxembourg Pavilion at the 2011 Venice Biennale with their architectural installation “The Closed Circle.”

Feipel and Bechameil have participated in solo exhibitions at Parc Draï Eechelen, Mudam Luxembourg, Pavillon de l’Arsenal, Paris, Galerie Valerie Bach, Bruxelles, Katz contemporary, Zürich, Galerie Gourvennec Ogor, Marseille, Galerie Rolando Anselmi, Berlin, Arts Gallery, London, and the 54th International Art Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia, among others.
