Juwelia

With a personality that is larger than life, Berlin based artist, writer, singer, and dancer Juwelia creates paintings that revolve around this exuberant disposition. Juwelia’s work, masquerading as childlike and playful, aims to make the world more colorful, inebriated, and decorative. Juwelia’s work constantly engages with and redefines gender, hoping to capture all audiences as the ambiguity of gender allows for. Many of Juwelia’s paintings employ self portraiture which enables her unique reality to reach a greater audience. In her paintings two worlds collide: “the unrealistic and the realistic”, allowing for audiences to interpret this unity in varying ways.

Juwelia regularly shares her work in her gallery space and studio Galerie Studio St. St. She has also contributed pieces to group exhibitions at the Jack Hanley Gallery. She has been covered by the ArtNews Review, New York Magazine, and Berlin Art Link.
