Joe Fyfe

Painter Joe Fyfe’s framed collages combine painting on canvas, cardboard and paper, found objects and photographs the artist takes himself. The magnetism in Fyfe’s work lies in the undulation between haut-formalism and his quotidian palette. Fyfe has shown internationally for the past thirty years—his work was featured in the Times Square Show, New York (1980), at White Columns, New York in 2012 and Longhouse Projects in 2014. He has had number of a solo exhibitions including Christian Lethert, Cologne, ACME, Los Angeles, James Graham & Sons, New York, Bernard Ceysson, Luxembourg, and Ryllega, Vietnam among others. Fyfe’s writings on art have appeared in Art in America, Artnet, Artforum, BOMB, Kilimanjaro, Modern Matter, and elsewhere. He has curated exhibitions for Zurcher Studio, New York, Cheim & Read, New York, and Halsey/McKay in East Hampton, among others. He is a contributing editor in visual art at BOMB.
