Jacky Connolly

New media artist Jacky Connolly creates dystopian videos and sculptures using graphics from gaming technology. Her work explores conventions of narrative cinema, animation, and literature. The 2016 video Hudson Valley Ruins follows two female protagonists through the mundane but sinister suburban landscape. This work is representative of her practice, which examines personal trauma, childhood, and alienation as it relates to the built environment. 

Jacky Connolly’s work has been exhibited in group and solo shows internationally, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, Interstate Projects, Brooklyn, Kimberly-Klark, Queens, Et al., San Francisco, Land and Sea, Oakland, and Bus Projects, Melbourne. Her work has also been featured in Art Agenda and Artforum.
