Hamra Abbas

Hamra Abbas studied at the National College of Arts, Lahore, and the Universität der Künste, Berlin. Based in Islamabad, Pakistan, she fuses religious and cultural traditions of the East and West in sculpture, installation, and animation. The series Lessons on Love, shown at the 10th Istanbul Biennial in 2007, reimagines figures from Persian miniature paintings as plasticine sculptures making love while armed with weapons.
