Giovanni Ozzola

Giovanni’s work encompasses sculpture, photography, video, and examines the individual’s place within the magnitude of the universe and the concept of infinity. Giovanni has explored the concept of light in its infinite possibilities, focusing on the use of different mediums such as copper, gold, aluminum, bronze and gemstones. For example, Bassorilievi is a series of wall sculptures where Giovanni sketches out mountain tops, cloud formations, and stars out of clay cast in silver and gold. Through these pure materials and organic imagery the artist underlines the importance in the idea of discovery–whether physical or through self-exploration.

He has had solo exhibitions at Gazelli Art House in London and Baku, Guangdong Museum of Art, Hazard Gallery in Johannesburg, Galleria Continua in Beijing and San Gimignano, Elgiz Museum in Istanbul, among others. His work has been included in group exhibitions at institutions such as Mori Art Museum Of Tokyo, LILLE 3000, Contemporary Art Terminal in Shanghai, Museo Pecci Milano in Milan, and Tate Modern in London.
