Dennis Hollingsworth

Working primarily with a method of wet on wet, thickly dabbed paint, Los Angeles based artist Dennis Hollingsworth creates vibrant Pop-influence compositions that blend color, pattern and texture to engage the canvas space. Often floral in appearance, Hollingsworth’s paintings and sculptures are at once organic and otherworldly—dripping dots, striped lines and poured waves are carefully applied through a process of spatulas, palette knives, thinned-out brushes. Says Hollingsworth of his purpose, “we’ve been making art as negation for so long that it was bound to explode.”

Hollingsworth has exhibited widely throughout Europe and the U.S., with solo exhibitions at Galerie Pelaires, Palma de Mallorca, Tomio Koyama Gallery, Tokyo, Galerie Miguel Marcos, Barcelona, and Kohn Gallery, Los Angeles.
