Carlton Davis

Carlton Davis began exploring photography at the age of sixteen. He nurtured his talent as the high school yearbook photographer in Hartford, CT and deepened his passion for image making by studying photography for two years at a school in Rhode Island. Carlton moved to New York in 1987 to become a photographer's assistant. Three years later, he opened his own studio and received his first major advertising commission. Carlton’s successful career as a commercial still life photographer includes working with brands such as Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang, Tiffany & Co., and Tanqueray among many others. His work has been commissioned by many of the major magazines including, Vogue, Marie Claire, Esquire, GQ among others. Carlton's passion for storytelling drives him to continuously produce personal projects that explore the concepts of identity, place, and relationship while challenging society's preconceptions through still life and portrait photography.
