Adam D. Miller

The work of Los Angeles-based artist Adam D. Miller incorporates a number of cultural, literary, and Pop influences, including imagery from Greek mythology, pre-Columbian art, heavy metal, horror films, textile design, fantasy illustration and comic books. Examining destructive instincts, Miller re-appropriates ancient and modern motifs, such as the Minotaur, to symbolize the conflict between human instinct and animal behavior. A confrontation of man’s own violent nature, Miller’s work is stylistically and thematically dynamic.

Miller has been included in various solo and group exhibitions in Los Angeles including at the Hammer Museum, Eagle Rock Center for the Arts, RAID Projects, Actual Size Gallery, Luckman Gallery and 533 Gallery.
