Since 2000, Tigran Khachatryan has been working on a series of filmic reinterpretations of classic movies. His Garage Videos are edited with the intention of liberating the originals from the stylistic inhibitions of their makers, investing them with new personal and political meanings. Khachatryan focuses on images that are multilayered, emphasizing their embodiment of ideological contrast and conflict.
