Safaa Erruas

Safaa Erruas attended l’Institut National des Beaux-Arts in Tétouan, where she continues to live. She reclaims materials associated with the tradition of Moroccan dressmaking in sculptures, installations, and public works. Cotton, gauze, tissue paper, pins, and razors are assembled and reconfigured in abstractions that are at once threatening and delicately meditative. She is a member of the Collectif 212 group of contemporary Moroccan artists.
