Robin Hewlett

Rather than making things, artist/organizer Robin Hewlett makes things happen. She earned her BFA in fine art and drama from Carnegie Mellon University and continues to live in Pittsburgh. Her ongoing project ReTool investigates alternative economies through interviews, sound installations, workshops, and a website. In One Mile Meal (2007-present), she and a partner prepare a meal with a community using local food gathered while biking. Hewlett also runs Spare Room, an informal exhibition space and residency program in her home.
