Rachel Owens

Rachel Owens received an MFA at the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work uses discarded objects to create sculptures and installations. Items she uses include cardboard boxes, broken beer bottles, The New York Times, and rubber tires. In many of her works she composes botanical structure, animals, and anthropological figures to exemplify themes of human waste, wreckage, loss, and powerlessness.
