Marcia Kure

Native Nigerian artist Marcia Kure draws much of her inspiration from African art, such as cave paintings, textiles, and body painting. Uli, a form of art practiced by the Igbo people of Nigeria, has specifically had a significant impact on Kure's work. This style of art often lacks symmetry and perspective and the design is usually composed of earth tones.

Kure has had many international solo and group exhibitions, including numerous exhibitions in her home country. She was also featured in the "African Artists of the Future Calendar" in 2002, and her work was included in the Fela Project at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in 2003.
