    About The Work

    The Axe Bud Vase is modeled after two 15th- and 16th-century halberds (a two-handed pole weapon consisting of an axe blade topped with a spike mounted on a long shaft). These halberds belong in The Met’s collection and are of Swiss or German descent.

    Though this Brutalist vase is stunning with or without a bouquet, pair it with a few colorful peonies or soft whispy foliage to juxtapose the angular steel vase. Or, complement its severe, masculine edge by adding a structural arrangement using seed pods and sharp silhouettes.
