K8 Hardy

K8 Hardy adopted the alternative, skater-inflected spelling of her first name as a teenager, when she was producing zines. Now she applies the same punk attitude to feminist critical theory in videos, photographs, performances, and texts. Hardy was active in Portland for several years before she relocated to New York City. She attended the Whitney Independent Study Program and Bard College. Hardy's early interest in collaborative publication continues in the journal LTTR, a political and aesthetic platform for the artists involved in its production.
