June Glasson

Working across a variety of media, including ink drawings and oil paintings, June Glasson creates works that are by turns realistic, whimsical, and surrealistic. Her paintings are frequently characterized by multiple washes of diaphanous color, lending them an ethereal quality. In her series Landscapes in Ink (2008) city skylines, forests, and battle flags emerge from the smoky haze dominating these dark paintings. Glasson’s work has been exhibited in private and public institutions, including the National Portrait Gallery in London. In 2011 she was awarded a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Printmaking/Drawing/Artists Books.
